Two AEMC customers were invited to one of the most exclusive electric motorcycle experiences in the world, Energica Week 2022.
Remember when Charlie got the golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory? That’s kind of what happened to Robin and Mike. They were AEMC’s first Energica customers in Australia, so the Energica team invited them to EW2022 at the factory in Modena, Italy for a week of pure motorcycle heaven – winding Italian roads, fine wines, classic food and of course – the world’s best electric motorcycles.
The week ahead was packed. Meeting the Energica team, riders, touring the factory, riding the current models, race track academy, riding challenges, social events as well as experiencing everything the world famous Italian Motor Valley has to offer. Italy’s Motor Valley is the home of the world’s most iconic racing names like Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini and now Energica, among many other manufacturers.
As a bonus, because Robin and Mike came all the way from Australia, Energica gave them two demo bikes to use before the event so they could tour the scenic roads of Bologna’s countryside. Mike got to ride a fully kitted out Ribelle RS with Ohlins and all the top end extras. Robin was riding a fully loaded Ego RS. You could imagine what a holiday it was for the guys, Italian countryside riding, historic cities, incredible food – what a dream. The only blot on what was a memorable few days – Mike experienced a rare firmware bug which caused a loss of power in an inconvenient location. Thankfully after some discussions with the Engineering team they were able to identify the issue, do a software update and fix the issue.
The official EW2022 event started on Thursday 8th September. Robin and Mike got to meet the whole Energica team, got the factory tour and were taken to dinner with around 100 other Energica riders from around the world. They also got to sit next to the head of engineering at the meal and picked his brains about all things Energica.
The next day, the real fun began. Mike and Robin opted into the MotoE Track Experience where they rode 2022’s actual MotoE race bikes, got a hands on MotoE lesson with racing legend Kevin Manfreddi and raced a load of other talented track riders. It looked like such a blast, check out this clip from the day below.

Our Aussies more than held their own against riders from around the world – placing 2nd in the rider of the day award.
Energica week was such an amazing and unique experience – I really don’t think many or any other motorcycle brands do anything like this for their customers. Mike and Robin left Italy smiling like Cheshire cats. There’s even talk of bringing one of those MotoE bikes to Australia – watch this space!
